Andrea Blake a.k.a Anjelle was born on December 26, 1982 to Parents Byron Blake and Angela Blake in the Beautiful parish of Trelawny. Andrea is the third child of six children and the first girl for both parents. During her early childhood she attended Albert Town Primary where she was successful in the Common Entrance now Gsat. She started singing at the tender age of six in a Baptist Church owned by her Grandparents. After being successful in the C.E. for Westwood High School, her Aunt took her to Portmore, got her transfer to Spanish Town High were she began her musical journey. Unfortunately she only stayed there for a year, then on to Jose Marti High. There she attended the school concerts thrilling students and teachers with her beautiful angelic voice. Her Aunt, who was a teacher at Jose Marti, spotted her talent and decided to groom her by letting her perform at various talent shows and karaoke. There she got good response from audiences. Anjelle record her first song at age sixteen ‘’My All’’. After being successful in her CXC Exams and leaving school, she worked part time has a graphic Artist at Litho media Printery in Spanish Town, still she visits karaoke quite often and various state shows. In 2001 she was spotted by Norman Chamber son of (Jimmy Cliff) at Hilton s Karaoke she then recorded songs such as ‘’Complicated’’ and ‘’What s up with this girl’’ with group Three Wishes. By 2002 she started her solo career, team up with Vybz Kartel and recorded ‘’I know u love me’’ and Danny English ‘’Like u love me’’ trying to make her way in the industry. This isn’t easy for me, because I had to sacrifice my 9 to 5 to spend more time doing what I considered to be my job in life, says the beautiful talented young singer who is know 26. Anjelle has done works with Mr. Wong Gyptian’s former Manager, Black and White from Down sound Records, with the hit single ‘’Giving it all to you’’ Ray from Vertex and Kevin and John Barrett from FAM House. Anjelle performed on shows like Champion in action, Sting, Carnival beach party, Portland festival among other stage shows, She as her new Single ‘’Struggle’’ that’s been getting heavy rotation on the airwaves in Jamaica. When she’s not in the studio, you would fine her on Hellshire Beach chilling or writing songs. She is a sure talent to watch.
